About the role 

Do you like the idea of using your Business Development skills in an organisation that really makes a difference? Community Banks Rupanyup, Minyip & Edenhope are at the forefront of social impact. They don’t just run some branches of Bendigo Bank; they set out to change our community for the better. Whether that be through the Distributed Housing Development initiative, the Rural Migration Program, or the Small-Town Retail Development project, in this exciting opportunity, your work with us goes way beyond banking.

As the Branch Manager, you will spend a large portion of your time utilising your business development skills to build long-term connections with local community groups, stakeholders and partners to drive business opportunities for the branch(es).  

This position is located at the Rupanyup, Minyip and Edenhope branches and time will be spent across each of these branches on a weekly basis. The role is Full time with a roster of 76 hours per fortnight however Part time options will also be considered, working a minimum of 8 days (60 hours) per fortnight. A vehicle will also be provided for the use of work related activities.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish and nurture business networks to build the branch profile and create wins for the local community.
  • Build and execute an effective strategic plan to gain market share for your localised area across multi customer channels.
  • Read and interpret financial reports to effectively manage the branch costs and income to achieve operating profit growth.
  • Listen and learn from customer feedback to continue building and improving our connection with our customers.
  • Embed operational and risk management practices through regular and clear communication on requirements
  • Lead a team of around 6 employees, with a focus on performance across various measures including sales, community development, service and compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish an effective operating rhythm and achieve set targets.
  • Be responsible for the profitability and growth of the business.

   

About you 

You’ll have:

  • High level communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Lending experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional environment
  • Understanding of financial management, business acumen and risk frameworks 
  • Knowledge of Loan Application Processing Systems and knowledge of Branch operations is preferred
