Our Digital Marketing Centre of Excellence delivers rich, digital experiences that acknowledge customer’s choice and are relevant to their diverse and evolving needs. Within this Centre of Excellence sit a team of Digital Performance Marketing Specialists who proactively use data-driven approaches across digital channels and new technologies, constantly seeking to improve efficiencies and effectiveness not only in performance but also in day-to-day ways of working and processes.

We currently have a 12-month fixed term opportunity for a Digital Marketing Specialist to drive all paid digital activity for a portfolio of business and consumer financial products, with a focus on Everyday Banking.

Reporting directly to the Senior Performance Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end ownership of digital activity both always on and campaigns, from strategy to execution including brief responses, channel implementation, ongoing optimisation, and performance reporting. Specialising in using digital marketing channels to drive performance, with a strong focus on customer acquisition, leveraging strong data-driven insights and external market trends.

You’ll gain exposure working across a broad range of digital channels with a strong focus on affiliates, paid search, paid social, and display whilst exploring and testing new digital channels for your own portfolio. The scope of this role will give you section autonomy and you’ll be seen as the subject matter expert with your stakeholders.

Join a small, tight-knit team that work collaboratively to support each other, emphasising the need to grow and continuously improve. This team forms a core function to the bank’s marketing strategy that harnesses innovative technology and data to maximise customer outcomes.

Ideally, this role will be based in one of our main office locations in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Bendigo for the days that you’re in the office, noting that hybrid ways of working are core to how we operate today. We’re also open to the role being either full time or part time four days per week, so talk to us about what flexibility looks like to you.

 

As the Digital Marketing Specialist, you will:

  • Devise, implement, and optimise effective digital marketing activity in line with primary objectives and clearly defined metrics of success
  • Measure, track, and interpret performance trends from digital marketing activity to identify opportunities for improvement, to drive sales, improve customer experience, and increase awareness where relevant
  • Drive the success of all digital marketing activity for the business by focusing on continually improving metrics of success
  • Liaise with stakeholders and external partners to build best-in-class digital strategies and industry best practice, including measurement studies and the development of made-for-digital creatives

 

Critical experience for the role:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in digital advertising (agency, in-house advertiser, or publisher side), especially in affiliate marketing
  • Exceptional data-driven ability to turn data into actionable insights to drive measurable outcomes, leveraging data visualisation and critical thinking
  • A growth mindset, an established test and learn approach, and the genuine desire to constantly stretch yourself outside of your core remit

 

Desirable traits:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Marketing or related discipline
  • Previous hand-on experience additional channels: paid search, paid social, digital video, retargeting, SEO, programmatic, native, digital audio
  • A proven track record of increasing quality traffic and optimising return on investment
  • Proficiency with Google (Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook Ads) products
  • Strong digital media experience especially understanding the role of different channels to drive growth
  • Prior experience in financial services or other heavily regulated service industries would be advantageous
