About the role

The Insurance Consultant - Acquisition & Retention role is responsible for coordinating the delivery of various customer led insurance initiatives that provide solutions and service outcomes to our customers that drive growth, retention and enhance customer experience.

The role sits within the broader Bendigo Insurance Team having strong working relationships with fellow members of the Insurance Team, the broader Bendigo organisation, and insurance partners such as IAG/CGU.

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Coordinate the delivery of various customer led insurance initiatives that drive growth and retention
• Providing sales development support for insurance opportunities
• Providing general insurance service to retail customers and other key customers
• Monitoring the service, quality and accuracy of the insurance solutions provided for customers to ensure they match the customers’ expressed need
• Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions in accordance with regulatory compliance and/or business unit requirements.
• Providing factual or general advice to clients in all matters affecting their insurance needs
• Presenting recommendations and options to clients; reaching agreement and receiving instructions on their implementation
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the Insured and other individuals working within the Insurance market

This is a full time, permanent position. The primary location for this role can be based in either Bendigo or Melbourne metropolitan.  You will become part of a company with a great culture and a supportive and collaborative team with a focus on high performance.  

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Literacy in technology and systems in current use in the Insurance industry
• Time management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritise workload
• Demonstrable high level of Professionalism, Customer Service skills and the ability to work autonomously
• Proven sales development and communication skills
• Tier 1 preferred RG146 compliant and Equivalent of Certificate IV of General Insurance (or commitment to complete)
• Exposure/knowledge/experience of general insurance products (ideally underwriting or claims)
• Someone that has experience delivering initiatives/process improvements (i.e. small projects)
• Must be able to work autonomously, pro-active self-learner
• Ability to build close relationships with stakeholders/customers
