Local Engagement Officer | Canberra | ACT

  • 926339
  • Australian Capitol Territory
  • New South Wales
  • Part Time

It’s banking, but not as you know it!

The role of the Local Engagement Officer is crucial in driving the relationships and engagement between the branch and its local community with the purpose of promoting the Canberra-region Community Bank branches through marketing and stakeholder engagement.

This is a part time opportunity. The roster will be 50 hours per fortnight.

  • Love meeting people and interacting with your local community?
  • Consider yourself a social media guru and not shy of creating digital engagement?
  • Wondering why we haven’t mentioned banking yet?

While this might look like a typical job advertisement from a bank, it’s not. This is an awesome opportunity for a natural go-getter and people connector. It’s our Local Engagement Officer (affectionately known as LEO)!

As a LEO, you’ll play a key role in driving in-branch experiences for our customers in Calwell, Wanniassa, Curtin and Jerrabomberra.

You won’t be a banker, you’ll be a guru with social media, an event manager champion, you will already know the Canberra region well and you’ll engage locals via social media with exciting content. To be successful in the role, you’ll manage sponsorships, content creation, coordinate and attend events and drive relationships with key stakeholders in the community.

As this is a newly created role, you have the ability to make it your own and make a real impact on the Community and organisation.

Keys to your success will be:

  • A recognition of what makes communities vibrant and bright and what can be achieved when local people work together.
  • You've managed social media platform and know your way around a digital engagement strategy.
  • Strong customer service ethos and a ‘glass half-full’ attitude.
  • Ability to drive and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • A knack for problem solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Some exposure to coordination and event management experience.
