Within our People and Culture Operations function we’ve made some exciting changes, including the establishment of a People Systems & Analytics team. This centralised team support the design, build, and maintenance of critical People & Culture management systems and offer bespoke analytics services.

To further help the People & Culture function achieve strategic and operational goals we have a newly created role for a People Analytics Manager. Leading a team of two within People Analytics this role will focus on supporting critical initiatives and the end-to-end delivery of data driven analytical solutions to business problems.

Reporting into the Senior Manager People Systems & Analytics you will service key business stakeholders and work within the team to drive a culture of continuous improvement and uplift technical capabilities. As a thought-leader you will shape problem statements, source data, and oversee the deployment and testing of solutions. You will need to manage and mentor in equal amounts and will be crucial in delivering the People Analytics strategic roadmap.

With genuine access to key decision makers you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of People Analytics here at the bank and be responsible for implementing a best-in-class People Analytics function and framework. Your extensive background as a senior analyst focused on SQL, ETL, reporting, dashboards, and Datamarts can be combined in a role where your ideas and input are valued. You’ll be given ownership to challenge the status quo and influence change across the enterprise through actionable and measurable people insights.

Ideally this role will be based in one of our main office locations in Melbourne, Bendigo, or Adelaide for the days that you are in the office, and then other days you’ll be working from home to help better balance your life and work. We’re also open to people working remotely and will consider applicants based anywhere in Australia.

 

As the People Analytics Manager you will:

  • Act as a steward for all people data, working closely with members of the team to enforce data integrity, quality and cleanliness across all source systems and processes
  • Leverage creative solutions, analytics, and visualisation/reporting techniques to enhance knowledge
  • Upskill team members in a variety of analytics techniques and appropriate scripting languages (SQL, R, Python) – this includes identifying and utilising sources of external and internal training.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration is embedded into the team culture
  • Work with stakeholders and People and Systems team to identify and create important data assets for querying and reporting
  • Support engineering teams by creating data asset requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Propose and develop ETL processes within the current and future systems architecture
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of analytics solutions with an emphasis on creating sustainable processes
  • Uplift the recognition and impact of the analytics team, present findings, solutions and methodology to stakeholders and other internal teams

 

To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in science disciplines, statistics, engineering or similar
  • Significant previous experience with data analytics, ideally from within the financial services industry
  • Proven capabilities proactively utilising analytics to drive business decision making
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring a team of data analysts within an analytics function with a complex stakeholder network
  • Advanced analytics skills with the ability to generate actionable value-add insights from complex data using tools such as Oracle, PowerBI (or similar BI tools), R, Python
  • Strong ETL knowledge to support automation of data from different systems and databases
  • Fantastic communication, stakeholder management ,and workload prioritisation skills
  • Ability to upskill team members in coding and analytics methodologies
  • Previous experience operating in an agile environment
