About the role

As the Senior Manager Insurance Sales and Service (SMISS) reporting directly to the Head of Insurance, you will be accountable for the delivery of a national insurance solution to existing and new customers across a variety of distribution channels. As a senior manager within the leadership team you will be directly responsible for setting the strategies and putting in place the plans to ensure growth while maintaining the highest possible service to our customers. This is an influencing role where your personal style and advocacy for the customer will create the opportunities

Key accountabilities include

  • Contribute to the Bendigo Bank Insurance strategy and set business objectives and growth targets in consultant with the Head of Insurance and its Partners
  • Successful roll out, management and accountability of strategies, objectives and targets that relate specially to customers across Consumer, Business and Agri-business
  • Manage the day to day operations of our insurance business including maintaining and leveraging strong partner relationships with major and niche insurance providers
  • Manage and provide direction for the Branch Sales and Service Support team and Acquisition and Retention team
  • Prepare sales reporting and forecasts and play an active role in the review of financial and operational performance
  • Assist in building and maintaining Bendigo Bank Insurance awareness across the group

About you

To be successful you will have

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications i.e. Business, Management or Commerce desirable 
  • RG 146 and Tier 1 product accreditation and Membership of ANZIIF o NIBA
  • In-depth experience, knowledge and networks across the insurance industry encompassing market/competition/strategy intel across product, distribution and servicing
  • Demonstrated experience as a successful insurance professional in a strategic and leadership capacity
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and work with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Extensive leadership capabilities including mentoring, motivating and managing high performing teams
  • High level of business acumen with the ability to think strategically and identify and deliver viable growth opportunities
