About the role

An exciting opportunity to join the Engagement Practice within Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s technology and transformation division. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will report into the Service Owner, whilst providing support and contributing to the design and development of the Bank’s internet banking platform.

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will actively participate in leading technical changes and drive others in the team to meet their compliance objectives whilst be able to effectively lead and own the work that comes through the roadmap.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop, test and deploy code to a high standard in a variety of programming environments
  • Support iteration management with flow of work, technical risk and sequencing of work
  • Provide production support, monitoring and incident response
  • Perform release planning, implementation, and code peer reviews
  • Work through a task, initiative, or project to ensure completion to achieve successful business outcomes
  • Play a key role in implementing and promoting practices and standards
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and promote new ideas to ensure ongoing focus and continuous improvement
  • Participate and encourage other team members to also participate in group discussions and promote a full exchange of ideas

About you:

  • Minimum 6 years demonstrated development experience within a team environment
  • Strong technical experience with TypeScript, Node.js/Hapi/Express and API Gateways and platforms (API Connect/Kong)
  • Experience working with Kube/Helm (desirable but not essential)
  • A strong understanding of Jest/Jasmine/Postman
  • Understanding of Cloud technology (AWS, GCP) and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of the Banking and Finance industry practices
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills
