About the role

Reporting to the Service Owner – Lending Assessment, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for design, delivery and support of modern software capabilities to support lending and credit assessment functions across the whole BEN enterprise. This includes the planning, leading, organising and motivating individuals to achieve a high level of performance and quality, delivering on service initiatives that provide exceptional business value to users.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analysis, coding, testing and automation of the testing, deployment and operational monitoring of work
• Take on other functional roles within the team including Iteration Management and coordinator of knowledge groups
• Participating in the improvement of organisational effectiveness in your technology space which will include the coaching and cross skilling of other Software Engineers and collaborating with Practice and Solution Architects to evolve the technology landscape
• Focus on the adoption of cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities including the design, build and support of enterprise cloud platforms across multiple vendors

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Relevant IT Tertiary Qualifications 
• Extensive Software Engineering experience Lending environments/Banking and Finance sectors preferred  
• API and Cloud Services development experience highly regarded
• Java/NodeJS/JSON/XML/SQL
• Experience using AGILE methodology i.e. SCRUM
• Demonstrated experience in developing effective relationships and influencing stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
• Self-motivated and proactive disposition with an adaptable and flexible mindset 
• Willingness to support and motivate the team
• Exceptional problems solving capabilities with the ability to identify opportunities
