We're more than just a bank with banking products. We change the lives of customers and communities. Commercial actions with heart!

Our time is now. We are challenging the status quo and we're excited about our future!

About the role

We are transforming, modernising and simplifying and you can be part of that!

To uplift our focus on data and analytics, the Group Data Office (GDO) was established in early 2022 to own the Group Data and Analytics Strategy and drive the Group level data capabilities, acting as an independent functional unit reporting into the Chief Transformation Officer. In this context, the Group Data Office sets the frameworks and standards, and drives best practice capability uplift across the organisation in relation to data management, data governance, the data modernisation roadmap, and deriving value from data through analytics and insight.

Reporting to the Head of Data Management and based in an enterprise team you will be responsible for driving the strategy and continuous improvement of newly implemented Data Governance and Data Quality Management tools (Collibra), managing the backlog of activities to expand the usage of tools, extend business capabilities and support the continual expansion of data assets managed within the tools.

We offer a hybrid and flexible ways of working. Our community is a place to thrive in if you enjoy working in a changing environment and thinking of creative solutions.

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Collaborate with complementary architecture and governance functions to build a consistent approach to enterprise data management, supporting them with capability to reduce data risk and drive value from data assets.
  • Translate opportunities for improvement sourced from custodians, executive and board and industry comparisons and use these to inform the vision for Data Governance Solutions.
  • Contribute to the vision of the target state for Group Data Office by participating in strategic planning, shaping, solutioning, delivery and adoption of individual transformation initiatives.
  • Provide expert services to internal stakeholders, actively contributing well informed perspectives on Data Governance solutions and their integration with Group Data Assets in alignment to strategic outcomes.
  • Maintain productive relationships with business and technology delivery stakeholders, ensuring cross-communication of initiative roadmaps and prioritisation, progress and delivery expectations.
  • You’ll work closely with the System Support Lead but from time to time you may need to provide support to the tools.

About you

You’ll have deep understanding of and experience using Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud and data quality solutions such as Experian Aperture Data Studio.

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of data management disciplines and application of related solutions in the governance and management of data in the financial environment.
  • Knowledge of financial services and banking industry, financial services products, services, channels.
  • Planning, consulting, business design, design thinking, agile practices and facilitation skills
  • An ability to think creatively and laterally to design appropriate solutions that are user-friendly, viable and feasible.
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating and delivering to a strategic product roadmap, leading planning, business design and user experience initiatives.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive outcomes at an enterprise level.
  • Happy to jump in and support the tools when required.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model of two days in a local Head Office per week.

We believe a diverse workforce supported by an inclusive culture is central to our success and we actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity of thought to our business. We support candidate requests for adjustment to accommodate an illness, injury, or disability to equitably participate in the selection process.
