Senior Manager, Risk Reporting and Data Analysis

About the team 

The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.

About the role

As Senior Manager, Risk Reporting & Data Analysis and reporting to Head of Risk & Compliance Services you are responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the risk reporting process within the first line risk and compliance function (1LOD).

Utilising your deep understanding of risk management principles, excellent analytical skills, and ability to communicate complex information succinctly to key stakeholders, you will get to:

  • Support business decision making with the analysis of data to identify trends, emerging risks, and key insights along with the generation of regular accurate, timely and relevant risk reports.
  • Manage and uplift existing dashboards to optimise the communication of risk exposure and enhance the level of insights and performance tracking for key stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate risk reporting processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and enhancement.
  • Collaborate and build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and members of cross functional teams including the Divisional Risk teams, Centre of Expertise teams, Group Risk (2LOD), Group Legal, Group Internal Audits
  • Lead, guide and mentor a team of risk reporting professionals.

Ideally this role will be located at our corporate office in Melbourne, and we offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement with the expectation you are in the office 2 days per week.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in management, accounting, finance, economics, or related fields
  • Experience and understanding of Risk and Compliance Management principles with in Banking and Financial Services with a focus on risk reporting (1LOD and / or 2 LOD)
  • Well-developed technical experience in data analysis and data analysis tools and techniques i.e. Excel, PowerBI, Python and/or R
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor, motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information succinctly and clearly to a broad audience.
  • Ability build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders with high level negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problems solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
