In Retail Banking our customers are at the forefront of everything do, where Insurance and Wealth Services offers a range of products and services to our customers that include personal and business insurance, financial planning referrals and retail managed fund investment solutions.  

The Insurance & Wealth Services team is responsible for enhancing our value to our customers by providing a range of quality financial services that they might otherwise need to source from outside the Bank, with a focus on insurance, managed funds and referrals for Financial Planning services. This involves working with our business partners and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to deliver sustainable growth across our various customer channels. 

The Head of Insurance & Wealth Services is ultimately responsible for:  

  • Sales, distribution and profitability of our Insurance & Wealth products and services encompassing the design of business strategy including strategic partnering, risk and compliance, service delivery, marketing, reporting, stakeholder engagement and management of the business unit P&L.
  • The role will lead change to drive distribution strategy to deliver a seamless customer experience by channel of choice whilst delivering on key business objectives. 
  • The role plays a key role in the Retail Leadership team to influence the growth of the business by representing the customer and partner whilst bringing a strong understanding of the solutions and the market. 

This is a Permanent position working Full time hours where we offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 40% of your time per week in the office, increasing to 60% as of July 2025, in a local Head Office where we are open to all locations Australia-wide.  

What you’ll bring to the role 

  • Establish and maintain critical long term customer relationships and partnerships, managing contract negotiations and demonstrate success in achieving sales targets.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability that creates a positive, highly motivated, energised sales strategy and the ability to manage teams that deliver agreed sales, risk and operational outcomes at an agreed cost base.
  • Can work strategically to realise organisational goals making prompt, clear decisions which may involve tough choices or considered risks.
  • A strong capability in project management planning, formulation, and implementation with proven change management capability.
  • Significant experience in Banking & Finance and/or Insurance and/or Wealth/Financial Planning.  
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business, economics or finance related discipline required.
