“It begins at Bendigo Bank”

We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

About the role

Come and be part of an established, close-knit team with great culture, reputation and expertise where you will make a difference: protecting our customers and communities from Financial Crime.

As an AML Investigator you’ll make an impact by:

  • Triaging and actioning system generated alerts, including AML and Sanctions alerts, while working within SLAs.
  • Investigating alerts: owning the alert from start to finish including writing risk assessment reports and making business recommendations.
  • Flexing your skillset, building your breadth of experience and supporting the team by providing coverage to the area most needed; gaining exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and investigations.
  • Experiencing a great start to your new role with structured training and onboarding.

We have two full time positions available and Bendigo, Melbourne or Adelaide, are the preferred locations.

We prioritise our people with a hybrid model that currently includes a minimum of 40% per week in a Head Office/Regional Office, increasing to 60% as of July 2025.

About you

To succeed in this role, we’d love you to have a genuine interest in developing a career in AML / Financial Crime detection and investigation, plus:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in AML and Financial Crime risk, ideally with a working knowledge of processes and procedures in financial institutions.
  • A strong written and verbal communication skillset where you can communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders and write formal reports.
  • Confidence in making quick decisions and informed recommendations while able to determine when it is appropriate to escalate.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume role; managing varied workloads, priorities and pressures under minimal supervision.
  • Success in shifting between tasks and areas of focus throughout the day while maintaining both productivity and quality levels
  • An investigative mindset and a focus on proactive engagement to deliver above and beyond.

So, why work with us?

You’ll also get access to a great range of benefits, including:

  • Looking for hybrid work, flexible hours, or a compressed week? Our flexible work options are designed to fit your lifestyle.
  • Health and well-being support, including discounted gym memberships, private health insurance options, and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family members.
  • Take your learning to the next level through opportunities like our corporate university ‘BEN U’ or at an external provider of your choice.

We believe a diverse workforce supported by an inclusive culture is central to our success and we actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity of thought to our business. We support candidate requests for adjustment to accommodate an illness, injury, or disability to equitably participate in the selection process.
