Launch your career with Bendigo Bank's Major Client Group (MCG) division!

We're seeking a highly motivated Associate to play a pivotal supporting role as part of the experienced Portfolio Funding team. The Portfolio Funding team sits within the MCG division, which also has teams that specialise in healthcare, corporate banking and loan markets.

In this dynamic and high-impact role, you’ll make your mark by:

  • Conducting thorough risk assessments of loan portfolios and suggesting mitigation strategies. This is crucial for the team's success.
  • Acting as the primary internal contact for program management and external stakeholders, building and maintaining key relationships.
  • Assisting with identifying and securing new business opportunities to support team growth.
  • Reviewing portfolio data, identifying trends, and providing insights to improve risk profiles and customer value.
  • Ensuring all activities align with bank policies, procedures, and risk appetite. This is a critical responsibility.

What you’ll bring to the role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, law, or management.
  • Experience in credit writing within business or corporate banking is highly desirable.

We would also love you to demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical skills for conducting in-depth risk assessments, analysing portfolio data, and identifying trends. Experience with financial modelling would be a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication & relationship management as the role demands strong communication to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • A solid understanding of finance, particularly lending, securitisation, and risk management, is critical. Knowledge of different asset classes (residential, commercial, consumer) would be beneficial.
  • Problem-solving skills including the ability to identify and resolve risk issues proactively is vital in this risk-focused role.
