About the team
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.
About the role
As Operational Risk Manager, reporting to Senior Manager Risk and Compliance, you are a key member of the 1LOD Risk team and responsible for key matters in relations to implementing and managing the risk and compliance framework within your portfolio with a focus on Financial Crime Risk (FCR) obligations.
You’ll get to:
- Perform all task in line with the Risk Management Framework and proactively monitor and asses the risk environment and recommend areas for improvement
- Produce papers for and providing input into the Divisional Operational Risk Committee
- Facilitating Change Initiative and Business Unit’s RCSAs workshops and/or meetings as per the RCSA procedures
- Promoting a strong risk and compliance culture with stakeholders (through education, support and awareness).
- Collaborate with members of the 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) Risk teams, Centres of Expertise, Group Regulatory Compliance and Group Operational Risk to enhance the further development of a strong risk and compliance culture.
This a permanent opportunity ideally located at our corporate office in either Adelaide or Melbourne. We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement with a requirement you attend the office a minimum 3 days per week

About you
To be successful you will have
- Experience in Operational Risk and Compliance (Line 1 or 2) in Banking and Financial Services
- Understanding and knowledge of FCR obligations highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with the ability to support, advise and influence a broad range of stakeholders
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a motivated and adaptable disposition
- Tertiary qualifications in Banking, Finance or Business-related fields desirable
