About the opportunity

The Third-Party Banking team is hugely important team generating about a third of our revenue through managing our brand and our white-label mortgage products. As a Broker Relationship Manager, reporting to the Regional Manager, Broker Distribution, you'll be a key player in keeping that success going and growing it.

You’ll be building and maintaining strong relationships with mortgage brokers and aggregators, focusing on driving growth in our home loan portfolio. This means actively looking for new opportunities, educating brokers on our products and services, helping them navigate tricky situations, and really understanding what both brokers and their clients need.

You’ll also be involved in training and marketing activities, like running webinars and presenting at industry events.

In this role you’ll get to…

  • Actively manage broker relationships to improve business outcomes in line with strategic sales and service objectives through the proactive engagement of mortgage brokers on a one-on-one basis and at group level.
  • Maintain appropriate market knowledge and industry contacts within the Third-Party Industry to generate new business and build a steady sales pipeline.
  • Deliver exceptional outcomes for brokers and their customers.
  • Develop a detailed weekly, monthly, annual sales plan and demonstrate implementation and achievement of Sales Goals.
  • Adhere to mandatory risk and compliance training timeframes and requirements. 

What you’ll bring to the role

You will be an experienced Business Development Manager with existing strong broker and aggregator relationships.

To be successful in the role you will have: 

  • A passion for getting customers into their own home through their mortgage broker.
  • A proactive approach to building connections and looking for business.
  • A solution-based mind set, with the ability to work with all levels of internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • In depth understanding of residential mortgages and credit policies and the ability to workshop a deal.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present with influence to a large audience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver outstanding results.
  • The ability to self-motivate and be autonomous in your role.
