About the team & the role:  

The Business and Agribusiness division brings together our specialist Rural and Business lending capability under the Chief Customer Officer - Business and Agri. We work collaboratively across the division to support our customers through dedicated business and agribusiness banking relationships, taking the time to understand their goals and aspirations and provide meaningful insights to add value to their business.  Our goal is to enhance the prosperity and sustainability of the communities in which we operate.   

The Business and Rural Division are part of an enterprise-wide digital transformation. Through the transformation the Division is pursuing a range of opportunities to improve the business customer experience, our management of risk, the efficiency of our business model and our financial contribution to the Group.  

The Industry team is a key to helping the division achieve these opportunities. The Industry team delivers and connects the businesses strategy with the distribution channel through industry research and collaboration, influencing policy, driving business operating model development, identification of growth enabling innovation and partnership opportunity, and owning implementation of strategic recommendations (directly or indirectly) to create game changing revenue growth outcomes. The team achieve this by:  

  • Working with the business and across market to identify key gaps in our industry strategy and policy 
  • Identify and drive innovation and partnership opportunities which deliver scaled growth   
  • Lead cross functional working groups to close identified gaps and meet customers and enterprise expectations  
  • Ensure that delivery is prioritized and sequenced in the optimal way to deliver as quickly and effectively as possible, taking both a divisional view and enterprise  
  • Provide visibility of the opportunities and constraints so the Division Leadership Team can make informed decisions around resources and focus 
  • Setting the business up for success to deliver initiatives in a way that realizes maximum ROI.

 

The team comprises members with expertise across research, insights, policy, and industry, and are the main point of influence for both front-line engagement, product, pricing, CPC, MCC, and Executive team. Being able to create real pull will be key to ensure stakeholders are not only aligned to initiatives but deliver against expectations.  

 

The Insights Manager will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager Industry, and Senior Insights Manager by identifying industry and market trends and partnering with key stakeholders to influence industry strategy and policy. This will be achieved through:  

  • Identifying areas of adoption of impactful industry policy and strategy initiatives across the division i.e., a lens across both Rural and Business 
  • Undertaking growth initiatives as assigned to support both the retention and acquisition activity for the Business and Agri division.  
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to develop workable execution plans to bring initiatives to life  
  • Identifying areas for continuous improvement and refinement of industry policy  
  • Promote understanding of how the business is looking to streamline business customer experience through effective policy and strategy debate and implementation  
  • Develop and deliver critical growth initiatives across the division.

 

This role will support the strategic focus for the Business and Agribusiness division and will continue to evolve the Industry team into a growth, research, insights, and strategy driver for the division. 

 

Critical skills for this position:  

  • Experience in frontline Commercial, Corporate or Agriculture banking.
  • Ability to quickly build deep stakeholder trust and credibility inside the organisation, and across the external market (government/industry/advisory ecosystems) 
  • Management consultant skill set: Strategy and proposition development, research, insights, modelling, and GTM 
  • Industry level execution: Renowned for translating ambition and aspiration into reality  
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and always curious and open mindset  
  • A proven track record in leading change and creating a culture of accountability and high performance.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:    

  • Commitment to improving Business Customer Experience and continuous improvement  
  • A curious and consultative mindset with an appetite for solving problems and working with ambiguity  
  • A proven track record in strategic initiative development, or consulting preferably in the financial services industry  
  • Conducted comprehensive market analyses including competitor assessments, and industry trend identification  
  • The ability to analyze financial performance metrics, including profitability, and revenue growth   
  • Develop financial models to assess the impact strategic initiatives and investment decisions  
  • In-depth understanding and experience in one of the commercial, corporate, and agricultural banking sectors  
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and development of C-Suite strategy documents      

This is a full time, permanent position can be based in Melbourne, Adelaide or Bendigo.
