Are you a seasoned risk leader passionate about contributing to a bank deeply committed to community prosperity? At Bendigo Bank, our success hinges on the success of our customers, people, and partners. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our 2nd Line team, driving assurance and oversight in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to proactively shape our future. You’ll leverage your expertise to:

  • Lead, plan and perform Line 2 assurance and oversight of Line 1 through structured assurance reviews, oversight, challenge and support on all non-financial risk matters.
  • Develop and execute against a structured, risk-based assurance plan, whilst also creating capacity for other targeted reviews as required.
  • Provide structured and insightful assurance reports with clear actions and recommendations as necessary to contribute to the continued uplift in the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment and the implementation of the Risk Management Framework.
  • Providing non-financial risk reporting to Divisions, Business Units and management and board committees as required.

This is a 12 month contract.  We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model of a minimum of three days per week based out of our corporate offices.

 

 

What you’ll bring to the role

To succeed in this role, we’d love you to have:

  • Proven assurance experience in developing and executing against an Assurance plan.
  • Extensive experience in a similar operational and compliance, governance risk role in banking or professional services firm.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in non-financial risk disciplines and functions, including but not limited to operational risk, compliance, business continuity, policy, framework, project risk, operational resilience and IT/Data risk.
  • Ability to develop strategic, commercially viable, and fit-for-purpose solutions, demonstrating a pragmatic approach to implementing and advancing the Group's Operational Risk Management Framework
  • Proven project management and change management expertise.
  • Experience with review of complex risk issues and root cause analysis.
  • Sound negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills.

 

While not essential, it would be great if you had:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, law, finance, risk, compliance, statistics, or technology related discipline is preferable.
  • CPA, CIA, CA, FRM or other relevant dedicated audit or risk certifications advantageous
