About the opportunity

Join our Cloud Platforms & DevOps Enablement team to shape, own and drive the successful adoption of AI infrastructure and platform capabilities. You will play a key role in building out platform capability to deliver AI solutions for the bank in line with customer safety and regulations. Responsibilities include end to end accountability for AI Platforms; including development of the banks AI Strategy, Service Strategy, performance, delivery, mentoring, and risk management.

In this role you’ll get to…

  • Plan, design, deliver and support Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms and frameworks.
  • Deliver operational platforms and patterns as foundations for the journey with AI, with high levels of automation, standardised patterns supported for re-use within a continuously maturing operating model. 
  • Provide leading inputs into architectural roadmap, service strategy, and technology target state for future vision for Service.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers. Mentor others and develop technical talent.
  • Educate teams on AI capabilities and utilising the capabilities in day-to-day practices.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll be passionate about AI and are a Technical Lead/Lead Engineer who wants to stay close to tech whilst providing technical leadership to a team.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Expert technical background/understanding in Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI)/GenAI solutions, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Chatbot, or Large Language Model (LLM) Engineering as well as Cloud, Computing, Software or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Proven experience leading delivery of cloud deployments and AI platform solutions at scale ideally in regulated industries.
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud Infrastructure, AWS or GCP, CI/CD tools (such as Gitlab & Artifactory) and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with cloud native application deployment and management using Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Hands on experience with tools such as AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex AI Studio and/or AI Notebooks (Jupyter, VSCode or Google NotebookLM) will be highly desirable.
  • You’ll have the ability to work with various stakeholders, have a positive mindset, and you can adapt to change and lead others with confidence.
