About the opportunity

The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for the enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.

As Operational Risk Manager reporting to the Senior Manager, Change & Improvement Risk and Compliance Services, you are key member of a 1LoD R&C team responsible for key activities in relation to the implementation and management of change improvement initiatives across 1LoD.

 In this role you’ll get to…

  • Manage and support the implementation for Risk & Compliance change and improvement initiatives
  • Analyse existing risk and compliance practices, policies, processes and procedures to identify where improvements can be made
  • Collaborate with cross functional team and stakeholders to assess change impacts and implement change by providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice, guidance and support
  • Proactively promote, monitor and support a culture of continuous improvement and to enhance the development of strong risk and compliance culture
  • Demonstrated experience in producing & refining policy, standards and procedures

This is 12-month fixed term role ideally located at one of corporate offices in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney or Bendigo but open to location for the right candidate.

What you’ll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Risk or related discipline highly desirable
  • Demonstrated Operational Risk experience in Banking and Financial Services Industry (Line 1 or 2 risk roles).
  • Sound understanding of risk management frameworks and / or bank operations, produces, policies and procedures
  • Proactive and curious mind set with experience with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across policies, standards and procedures highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with highly developed influencing and collaboration skills
