It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

At Bendigo Bank, we're all about helping people and communities thrive. We're a bank with a heart, deeply rooted in regional Australia but with a national reach. We're striving to become Australia's most innovative bank, and we need talented people to help us achieve this ambitious vision.

Welcome to the People Analytics and Insights function—a small ambitious team at an exciting stage of its growth. Our purpose is to enable the Bank’s 2030 strategy by providing the reporting and intelligence needed for effective decision-making around our most important asset—our people. With the foundations of our data firmly in place, you will have a unique opportunity to help build and shape our reporting capability, directly influencing strategic decisions across the function and organisation.

About Your New Role

As a People Analyst with a focus on Business Intelligence engineering, you will be at the forefront of designing and building the data models, dashboards, and visualisations that empower our leaders.

What You'll Do

  • Design & Develop: Design, develop, and maintain engaging and user-friendly data models, dashboards, and visualisations, primarily using Power BI.
  • Automate & Enable: Develop, automate, and deliver key people reports and metrics that support Corporate, Regulatory, and operational needs of stakeholders across the business.
  • Collaborate & Partner: Take a lead role in working with Engineering and Technology teams to ensure the right data is maintained within the Lakehouse and data sources and models are standardised and trusted for reporting.  You will create ETL processes, models and reports where needed to deliver new business needs.
  • Advise & Influence: Act as a subject matter expert on our workforce data, providing trusted advice on sources and reports that enable insights and analytics that shape our people strategy.

What You'll Bring

  • Significant demonstrated prior experience in a role focused on business intelligence, data analysis or engineering
  • Power BI Expertise: Extensive, hands-on experience developing end-to-end Power BI solutions, from data modelling to front-end visualisation.
  • Essential practical expertise in either SQL, R, or Python.  Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Data Capability: Proven ability to standardise, manage and manipulate complex datasets to create meaningful reports and dashboards that underpin strategic advice, insights and decisions.
  • Human Resources Acumen: A comprehensive understanding of workforce data and human resource management principles is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • A background working in a relevant industry sector or consulting domain.

This is more than just a job; it's a chance to make a tangible impact. You will be joining a boutique, collaborative team that is agile and supportive. We pride ourselves on pivoting quickly to meet business needs, supporting each other by sharing knowledge, and collectively tackling challenges.
