About the opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and collaborative Principal Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be a key influencer and a trusted advisor, providing deep technical leadership and guidance across multiple teams. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term technical vision, ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and sustainable for the communities we serve.

This is an opportunity to combine your love for architectural thinking with your hands-on technical expertise and strategic influence. You will champion modern practices, support teams in solving complex challenges, and foster a supportive and inclusive culture of engineering excellence where everyone can thrive.

In this role you’ll get to…

  • Guide the evolution of our core systems and platforms, shaping technical direction through collaboration and prototyping.
  • Nurture and mentor a talented community of engineers at all levels, helping to build their capabilities and confidence.
  • Champion and embed best practices in testing, observability, and security to uplift engineering quality across our services.
  • Act as a trusted partner to Product and Engineering leaders, helping to align technical solutions with our product strategy.
  • Contribute to transformative, large-scale initiatives and share your knowledge across different teams and domains.
  • Represent the engineering voice in strategic discussions, influencing decisions that have a real impact. 

What you’ll bring to the role 

To be successful in the role you will have: … 

  • Highly skilled and hands-on experience in developing enterprise-wide large scale digital products with high quality meeting business outcomes and group strategy.
  • A passion for software architecture, distributed systems, and creating thoughtful, large-scale platform designs.
  • A collaborative spirit with experience leading and influencing technical direction in complex environments.
  • A natural ability to communicate complex ideas and build strong, positive relationships with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • A desire to lead through mentorship and coaching, empowering others and sharing your knowledge.
  • A thoughtful approach to systems thinking, with an ability to connect tactical solutions to strategic goals.
