As a Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll make an impact by:

  • providing financial accounting and statutory reporting services for the Group including the preparation of the audited annual report
  • coordinating and completing supporting disclosures for Group and Bank financial statements
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including external auditors ensuring compliance obligations are adhered to
  • reviewing of subsidiary financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and consistency across the Group (where appropriate) and providing technical support to others across the team
  • displaying a positive team attitude and willingness to assist others within the team/division as required, ensuring we meet all deliverable timeframes
  • drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing operational efficiencies and the automation of financial processes

This is a permanent full-time position. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office.   

 

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or related discipline
  • Current membership in a related professional accounting body (e.g. ICAANZ, CPA)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations relating to statutory reporting including the Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of problem-solving skills, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Effective two-way communicator, keeping others informed whilst asking questions to understand overall business unit needs
  • A passion for continuous improvement, ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing demands is an essential component of the role
  • Arithmetical, data analysis and advanced excel skills
  • Previous experience in statutory reporting in a listed organisation
