We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.
At Bendigo Bank, we're all about helping people and communities thrive. We're a big bank, but we've never lost our focus on the people we serve. We’re driven by our purpose of feeding into the prosperity of our customers and communities, not off them.
Our people are at the heart of our Bank, and we care about them deeply. The People and Culture division delivers meaningful work in support of our group strategy, with a focus on enriching the employee experience and helping our people to thrive at the Bank. An exciting permanent opportunity has become available to join our People and Culture team, a pivotal division dedicated to supporting our most valuable asset: our people. This role sits within the People Operations function, a dynamic and evolving team at the heart of our employee experience.
It's an exciting time to join our People Operations team as we embark on a significant HRIS transformation with the implementation of SuccessFactors. This project will profoundly enhance our payroll function, introducing more streamlined, efficient, and intelligent processes. As the Senior Payroll Manager, you will be at the forefront of this change, helping to shape the future of payroll at Bendigo Bank and ensuring a seamless transition for our employees and the wider business.
As the Senior Payroll Manager, you will lead a dedicated, small-to-medium-sized payroll team responsible for the accurate and timely payment of our employees across Australia. You will be a key figure in our operational leadership, liaising closely with our payroll governance team to uphold the highest standards of compliance and accuracy in line with legislative and industrial requirements. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide, mentor, and develop your team while navigating a period of exciting technological change.
With significant demonstrated experience in a senior payroll capacity, you are a seasoned expert in managing large-scale, complex payrolls. Your background includes navigating various industrial arrangements and awards with confidence and precision. A proven and solid people leader, you have a track record of successfully managing and developing small-to-medium-sized payroll teams. We highly regard candidates with corporate experience who have guided teams through periods of transformation and have a natural aptitude for change management.
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative leadership team that values each member's input and works together to achieve collective success. We are passionate about contributing to the growth and development of the bank and are on a mission to be Australia's most innovative bank.
This role will be based in our Melbourne office. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.
