About the Team

The First Line Risk and Controls function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage risks associated with their respective area of focus, in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.

About the role

As Senior Risk Consultant and reporting to the Business & Agri (B&A) Credit Risk Lead, you will collaborate with various business units and second line functions to provide support to the Business and Agri division by translating complex information into clear and concise reports to enable better credit risk management decisions. In addition, you will provide advice and feedback on credit risk, policies and business processes.

In particular, your accountabilities include:

  • Providing business insights, critical analysis and written advice to support credit strategy and risk appetite.
  • Preparing and presenting analysis, insights and papers for risk committees and forums.
  • Collaborating with Group Credit Policy and the businesses on credit policy and process changes.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity to be located at one of our corporate offices ideally in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Bendigo.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications which include a quantitative component in finance, business, mathematics or a related discipline. Relevant post graduate qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit risk portfolio management.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk and data analysis of credit portfolios.
  • Business banking knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present reports in a succinct and clear manner.
  • Strong relationship and collaboration skills with the ability to advise, influence and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in risk identification and management with a good understanding of prudential, regulatory and compliance frameworks and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive and flexible disposition.
